When Hawthorn Cottage Honey approached us, their goal was to create packaging that reflected the natural, handcrafted quality of their honey products. As a small artisan producer, they wanted packaging that looked authentic, sustainable and premium without requiring large print runs or complex production.
At Brandpack, we worked with them to design a simple but highly effective packaging solution using eco kraft sleeves and custom rubber stamps. The result is packaging that highlights the product itself while maintaining strong, recognisable branding.
Designing Artisan Honey Packaging
For artisan food brands, packaging plays an important role in communicating quality and authenticity. Hawthorn Cottage Honey wanted packaging that matched the character of their honey — natural and carefully produced.
We developed a kraft sleeve packaging design that wraps neatly around the honeycomb trays. Using natural kraft board creates a warm, organic appearance that fits perfectly with honey products and reinforces the brand’s connection to nature and beekeeping.
Instead of relying on heavy printed graphics, the design focuses on simplicity and craftsmanship, allowing the product itself to stand out.
Laser-Cut Honeycomb Window Design
A key feature of the sleeve design is the laser-cut hexagon window, inspired by the natural shape of honeycomb cells.
This small detail makes a big impact. The hexagon cut-outs allow customers to see the honeycomb through the packaging, immediately connecting the design to the product inside. It creates visual interest while keeping the overall design clean and minimal.
Laser cutting allows for precise shapes and crisp edges, giving the packaging a premium finish while keeping the design environmentally conscious with minimal ink usage.
Custom Rubber Stamp Branding
To complement the eco kraft sleeves, we also created custom engraved rubber stamps for Hawthorn Cottage Honey.
The stamps include:
- The Hawthorn Cottage Honey logo
- A bee illustration
- A hawthorn flower motif
These stamps allow the brand to apply their identity across a wide range of materials. The same stamp can be used on packaging sleeves, business cards, promotional packaging, market stall displays and other materials.
Rubber stamp branding gives the packaging a handcrafted, artisan look that suits small food producers perfectly. It also allows the brand to adapt their packaging easily without committing to large printed quantities.
